▬ The Man who Sleeps ▬
January 4, 2024
Reverend Danny Rhoades
Good morning, Brothers andSisters! I’m sure you’ve all seen it before—the man who sleeps. He’s the one who goes through the motions of life, never really putting in the effort to achieve his dreams. He sleeps through life, stuck in the same routine, never daring to take a risk and break out of his comfort zone.
Today I want to challenge you to wake up from your slumber and take control of your life and. We can learn valuable lessons from the man who sleeps.
The first lesson we can learn is that we need to be intentional with our time. As Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, “To everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven.” In other words, we can’t let time slip away, we must make the most of every
moment. The man who sleeps is often stuck in his routine, never taking the time to reflect and make the most of his days. We must be intentional with our time, setting goals for ourselves and actively working towards them.
The second lesson we can learn is that we must take risks and venture out of our comfort zone. As Thomas Edison said, “If we did all the things we are capable of doing, we would literally astound ourselves.” The man who sleeps is too afraid to take risks and step outside of his comfort zone. We must be brave and trust that everything will work out in the end.
The final lesson is that we should never give up on our dreams. The man who sleeps often forgets what it is he’s striving for and gives up on his dreams. We must never give up, no matter how hard things get. As Romans 8:31 says, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” We must have faith that our dreams are within reach and never give up on them.
My Brothers and Sisters, don’t be like the man who sleeps. Instead, be like a flower that blooms in the night—wake up from your slumber and take control of your life!
My Dearest Precious God above, thank You for Your love and mercy. Thank You for giving us the gift of sleep. As I pray for those people, I ask that You would bless us as they sleep. Please help us to rest peacefully and to wake up feeling refreshed and renewed.
I pray that You would guard us from all harm and danger. Please keep us safe from any evil that may be lurking in the darkness.
I also pray that You would use this time of sleep to restore us physically, mentally, and emotionally. Help us to dream dreams that will inspire us and to wake up with a renewed sense of purpose.
I pray all of this in the name of our Lord and Savor Jesus Christ, AmenJoin us in spreading God's love and compassion to those in need.
