I thought to myself, “What an amazing sight to behold! Thousands of creatures, all working together in perfect harmony, without any conflict or chaos. That’s what 144,000 people resurrected to heavenly life will be like!”
Today, I want to talk about what it means to be part of the 144,000 people who will be resurrected to heavenly life.
First, we must understand that this is not a reward for any special group of people. In Revelation 7:4, it says, “And I heard the number of those who were sealed, 144,000 sealed from every tribe of the sons of Israel.” This shows us that God has chosen a specific group of people from all walks of life and from all nations to be part of this blessed group.
Second, we must remember the purpose of this group. In 1 Corinthians 15:22-23, it says, “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming.” So, the purpose of the 144,000 is to be a part of the firstfruits, those who will be resurrected first and who will serve as an example of what is to come for all who believe in Christ.
Finally, we must remember that this is not just a reward for those who are part of the 144,000 but for all who believe in Christ. In Revelation 14:1-3 it says “Then I looked and behold, a Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His Father’s name written on their foreheads. And I heard a voice from heaven, like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of loud thunder… saying to them, ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on!’” This tells us that although the 144,000 are special and will receive a great reward, all who believe in Christ and die in Him will receive a blessing.
So Brothers and Sisters, let us remember that although only 144,000 will be resurrected to heavenly life, we can all benefit from their example and strive to live our lives according to Christ’s teachings. We must not forget that the blessings that come from being part of this group are meant for all who believe in Him. To quote Hebrews 11:6: “Without faith it is impossible to please God.”
I leave you with this thought: If you have faith in Christ, you will be blessed no matter what lies ahead for you.
